Q. I made a page that looks great when I view it on my desktop. But when I look at it on my friend’s computer, it looks terrible. What’s the deal?
A.
Sounds like a browser compatibility problem. You made the site and used the browser you have to check it for flaws. The thing is there are different browsers and older/newer versions of them you must consider when you create a web site. Most people use Microsoft Internet Explorer. The thing is a lot of those people use older versions of that browser software. If you use the newest version of IE to make your site, it may not look right to a surfer with an older version of IE. If you make IE-compatible pages, they may look distorted in Netscape Navigator or Opera or one of the other browser programs out there. It’s best to at have at least those three browser programs on your machine for calibration purposes. It’s even better if you make your sites compatible for older browsers.
