Q. I am an up and coming young photographer and I am interested in doing solo shoots of amateur girls and then selling this content either directly to a porn site or to a content provider.

I was wondering if perhaps you would care to enlighten me about the field of a pornography photographer. Specifically, would it be better to work directly for a content provider, or should I pursue the role of an individual contractor? As of right now I would like to be a contractor and sell to a content provider, using only very amateur girls for the shoots.

This leads to another question, how much money would I be obliged to pay the girls and what would the general going rate be for the content I sold? If you would please try to answer these questions or may I request a link to somewhere where I would be able to acquire said information. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A. As a new content provider, you’ll probably want to get your images out to the largest possible market. A lot of new photographers mix it up by selling their stuff through both a broker (non-exclusively) and from their own, individual sites.

There are quite a few content brokers in the adult web that will sell your stuff for a percentage of your profits. Considering that you don’t have to have a web site or get a biller to sell through a broker, the fees are pretty reasonable. Eventually you’ll want to make all the money so you can then build and manage your own content site.

As far as pay rates for models, I guess it all depends on what you can afford and whom you can get for what you’ll pay. I don’t know if there is any "going rate" for adult Internet talent. The little voice in my head whispers that $50.00 an hour is probably a good amount to start off with. I would imagine that you’d have to pay more for models willing to perform more explicit acts.

My concern with your question is that you’ve not mentioned the legal aspects of adult content production. What about model contracts? How about age verification? What are the laws covering nude modeling where you live? Before you do anything, you need to consult a lawyer.
