You know me. Love the blogs. Can't get enough of them. I read my favorites religiously. I make entries on my own blog. I look at other blogs that link to me. I search for new blogs or find out about them by reading other people's blogs.

One of my favorite blogs is a Video Blog. The reason it's called a video blog is because the majority of entries are made up of either embedded video clips or links to clips. The entries contain a little bit of text but it's mostly just descriptions of the clips. The meat of the blog is the clips. Lots and lots of clips. Every day, this blog posts at lease two new clips.
Now you ask, what the hell difference is there between some silly video blog and a good old-fashioned Movie Gallery Post or free clip site? MGPs and free sites show updated clips too.
In broad terms, I suppose there's not a lot of difference between an MGP and a video blog. Yet, when it comes to the finer details there's a world of difference.
Most blogs have a fairly standardized template that's not at all like the typical TGP or MGP, or free site or paysite. Blogs display dated entries with one or two side columns, making them look more like e-zines. Blogs need to be generated in XML format so they can be syndicated.
Successful blogs are updated sometimes several times a day. Blogs allow surfers to write, submit and post messages right on the site. Blogs have to offer the kind of content that keeps surfers coming back day after day. This usually means text-based content but there's absolutely no reason why you can't create a blog featuring nothing more than video clips along with some peppy descriptions.

Q: What kind of clips can I put on a video blog?
A: If you have the bandwidth, the license and/or the sponsor's consent, you can put any kind of clips you want on your video blog.
The cool part about video blogging is that the market's not saturated with adult or non-adult. Non-adult video bloggers are somewhat rare because most of them aren't in it for the money and the bandwidth/transfer fees add up. As for the porn video bloggers, they're out there but there's still room for you.
Another nice thing about blogs is that you don't have to be a design or code guru in order to create a professional looking video blog. The software does the work for you. All you have to do is insert ads and links in strategic locations and create entries. Click and your newest blog entry is uploaded, updated, time-stamped and pinged.
When you create a video blog, you're simply making entries that contain clips. The theme, the choice of sponsor ads, the niche is all up to you. Want to make a blog that highlights the latest in reality porn? Do it with a video blog. Make an entry describing the clip, make a thumbnail with a screen grab from the clip, link to thumb to the clip. Do it over and over every single day and Voila! You have a video blog!
Of course, just like MGPs, TGPs, free sites or paysite, making money from your video blog is the hard part. Hard but not impossible.
As I said before, you have to make a blog that's worthy of bookmarking. That's why it's vital that you update at least once a day with a new entry. You also need to think carefully about ad placement. You still want the surfer to see your ads wherever the eye may wonder. You also want to make sure your text is sales text as well as descriptive text. Above all, you want to give your blog a definable theme, something surfers can understand quickly.
There are adult webmaster bloggers that tend to eschew the video blog. They claim that a video blog is nothing more than a glorified MGP. Maybe they're right but I don't think so. A successful adult video blog will have character and personality as much as any text-based blog.
Is a video blog merely a reconfigured MGP? Who cares? Make a video blog. Use your content. Use sponsor content. Make it a review blog. Make it a BDSM blog. Make any blog you want, just make it.
