Here is a small list of tricks that I have discovered in my years of adult webmastering. Tricks I had to discover on my own after many years of trial and error. I KNOW that there are webmasters out there who know these same tricks, but I'm going to be the one to actually EXPOSE them! I'm not going to say, "SHH! Don't tell anyone!" because it's my job to inform, and through reading this I hope you will be willing to share this information with other newbies so that they don't have to go through the years like I did!

These are some methods of generating traffic and making sales that other webmasters don't want you to know. They're tricky, but they're not dirty and they're not illegal or immoral!
TRICK NUMBER ONE: The Traffic Pump.
Some webmasters talk about building their own traffic pump sites, but few actually tell you how to go about it. What is a traffic pump, you ask? That's simple.
A traffic pump is where you build your own link site, like the big boys, but you ONLY add links to your own sites, and maybe to the sites of a few close friends or associates. When you build your free sites and add reciprocal links to the big boy link sites, you also add a reciprocal link to your traffic pump. Once you have about 100 small free sites built, you can expect to start getting some decent traffic to your traffic pump site.
You can then take a surfer who wouldn't buy from your lesbian site and send him to your traffic pump where he might see a link to your breast fetish site. He might be MUCH more interested in breast content than lesbian content and there is a signup that you wouldn't have gotten if you had simply let that surfer go from your lesbian site out to one of your reciprocal links to another big boy link site!
Now, here's the REALLY good part! Once you have some good traffic coming in to your traffic pump, you can build some sites with blind links, popup consoles and other things that aren't allowed on the big boy link sites, and you can add links to them on your traffic pump! It's YOUR link directory, so it's YOUR rules! Just be careful not to add too much crap on these sites, you do want surfers to bookmark your traffic pump and return later. This is a good way to use popups to gain traffic to your top lists!
TRICK NUMBER TWO: Top List "Exploitation".
Okay, so it's not really exploiting the top list at all. That's just the best word I could come up with for what you're actually doing. Here's the trick. Build a site that wouldn't get accepted to the link lists, with whatever advertising methods you desire, it doesn't matter, as long as it's not bad enough to anger the top list that you've joined.
Most top lists are more lenient than link lists, so find one that allows a popup or two and allows full page ads and blind links or something. Something reasonable, but not something that allows ANYTHING. You still want the traffic to be of decent quality.
Now, you build at least 10 other sites in the same niche as the first one, but higher quality. No popups, no full page ads, no blind links. Then add those to as many high traffic link lists as you can. Add the SAME top list code to every one of those 10 sites. (Check with the rules of the top list, but most do allow you to send traffic from many different sites and have all the traffic sent to one specific site.)
You filter that massive link list traffic through to the top list from your quality sites, and exchange that traffic for traffic from the top list to your site that has popups and full page ads and such. This way you can get around the fact that it's difficult to get traffic to these types of sites since most link lists do not allow these methods of advertising. And we all know that popups and full page ads are some of the best advertising methods out there! This is sneaky, but in to no way immoral. It's a workaround of sorts.
TRICK NUMBER THREE: Banner Exchange Basics.
I recommend that you attempt to find a banner exchange that targets your niche. For example, SexSwap now has AsianSwap and GaySexSwap that targets the asian and gay niches. If you can find something that targets your niche, go for it! If not, just pick the closest thing you can find, or go for one that has a lot of mass traffic that they can send you, something well established.

You need to design yourself a banner, or have one designed for you. You should be able to get a good banner designed to normal banner exchange size for under $50, and many places charge less than $30. It has to be a GOOD banner, though. I mean REALLY good. It has to grab the clicks!
Now, make a site like the one you made for the top list trick above. Popups, blind links, FPA's, etc. It can even be the same one you're using the top list trick! Submit that site to the banner exchange and use the URL of that site when you sign up. This will be the site that the banner exchange will send your traffic to. Check with the rules of the banner exchange you join to be sure they allow you to place the banner code on multiple sites, but you'll find that most of them do. They want those ad views!
Now, make a bunch of sites, especially TGP galleries, anything that will get you LOTS of traffic FAST. Put the banner code on every single page to squeeze out as many impressions as you can. The more impressions you generate, the more times YOUR banner will be shown on other sites in the system.
Most banner exchanges don't care what you have on your site as long as it's legal, so you're going to get getting back quality traffic (traffic that has been proven to click banners, because they clicked yours to get to your site from the banner exchange!) Now that this banner-clicking traffic is at your site, you can use all your big sales methods like popups and full page ads to sell them to your sponsor!
These are just a few ideas, but they are some things that I certainly wish I could have thought of when I was a newbie. It could have saved me a lot of time, but instead I had to kick, claw, scream, fight and struggle my way into learning.

It is a never-ending process because the Internet and this industry keeps changing, and rapidly. It's hard to keep up. But you being here reading this article shows that you just may have what it takes to succeed! You've got a willingness and ability to learn. That's what it's really all about!
