Many months ago I came up with a new concept for an adult pay site and registered MyXXXDrive.com. Since I spend all my time helping webmasters make money and I do not have enough time of my own to run a pay site, I am extending this concept to all of you and would like to see who can get it up and running first!

They say the most important part of a new opportunity is taking it by the horns and turning that idea into a reality FIRST. Well this industry is ripe for something new and I have an idea I’d like to share to see it become a reality. The last edition of Adult Site Innovations, CD Paysites, was not right for everyone but it did get people to thinking, and that was my entire goal. The XXX Drive concept requires fewer resources, is more easily manageable, and retains many positive qualities as the "CD Paysite" concept.
Privacy is a major issue and keeping porn off family computers helps not only to protect any children in the household, but also the privacy of the mature surfer. Although not everyone may want to keep their favorite pics stored on their computers, they do want to be able to easily access their porn collections at the click of the mouse.
Member retention is also essential to not only the success of the paysite owner, but it is a winning factor for your members as well. People tend to get comfortable and once they find a site/company they trust, they want to remain repeat customers as a trust is built up. Why does Adam and Eve have a customer base of 4 million? Because they go out of their way protect the privacy of their customers and provide a solid service. Ever read that envelope that encloses their catalog? If not, order one and check it out. Superb marketing and something the adult Internet can learn from. If you don’t have "Easy to Join, Easy to Cancel" somewhere in your paysite tour or banners, try putting it on your home page and see if conversions increase.
The XXX Drive concept is based on the idea that each member has their own personal start page and interactive features. It is a simple programming concept where as the surfer browses the site’s images and movies they can "save" their favorites into their own personal directory inside their start page. My vision is that they can drag their favorite images into their "favorites" folder, basically "bookmarking" that image if their favorites folder inside their personalized start page.
The favorite’s folder can look much like the folder directories that appear when you browse your computer. Programming wise it would just be bookmarking the image to recall from the same location in the server from their favorites folder. No downloading or saving pics to their drive, members can view all their favorites instantly by logging into the site. A favorite pics folder where they can create their own subdirectories and favorite movies folder created a personalized experience for the member. They will want to renew their membership every month in fear of losing their favorites just as if you had to renew your porn collection archive on your machine every month. I know I would, but if I had kids or jealous lover I would not want them to find those pics on my machine.
The overhead is primarily the programming costs to get this concept functional. I hope one day to see a service provide this package to webmasters where they can easily install it on the server like you would a BBS message board or link directory.

I think this functionality can be written in PHP, Cold Fusion, or maybe even by using Java Servlets. Since images will not have to be moved around the server for each user, simply bookmarked from one location, you can get an idea of what the most "bookmarked" content is by viewing stats to help you get a feel of what your members like.
Already mentioned is increased privacy and hopefully, member retention. The fact that you offer a service very few or no other sites offer, word of mouth or viral marketing will tend to spread as your branding of the functionality increases.
You will also become more familiar with the demographics of your audience and create customized up-selling or suggestive selling strategies. Overall increased interactivity such as users creating a personality, integrating polls for "next month’s additions" and "favorite pics of the month" allow users to share the experience with other porn connoisseurs. It can also help direct you, the webmaster, when purchasing new content. The idea is to please.
Again, I strongly believe that adult surfers are looking for more. Not necessarily the playboy glamour, but to feel a part of a community that shares the same interests. No one wants to feel like a lonely pervert. The positive expression of sexual emotion and interest is healthy! A private place where members can get to know one another, share favorite pics (found on your site), and chat, post personals, whatever, will keep them coming back for more.
