    Internet Porn in Flux!

    By Titmowse | Writer @ CozyFrog | DEC.04.2001
Towards the end of the Paleolithic era, humans began to correlate sex with reproduction. No kidding, it took us millions of years to get the connection. To be fair, females of the era weren't exactly like they are today. The Paleolithic female (and even more the Neolithic female) had a heat much like a cat except the heat was closer to annually than monthly. They were constantly pregnant or nursing and they had no menses for a long time.

"The odds are that the business of sex and porn will probably survive the Internet. The question is, will you?"
Eventually, the hunter-gatherer humans figured out how to raise crops and herd animals. It was in this period when humans (who stopped their nomadism) finally realized sex made babies and felt good. Sex has since, never left our minds.

Sex isn't the world's oldest profession, but interest in it has been strong since the advent of recorded history. The original religions incorporated sex into the sacrament and there were female priests known as Harlots who traded their services for donations. Sex and commerce have been inextricably linked ever since.

Sex has survived as a business through the crusades, the plague, the dark ages and even the disco era. The odds are that the business of sex and porn will probably survive the Internet. The question is, will you?

Throughout history, lawmakers have come to terms with the fact that they can't make sexual commerce go completely away. The best they've been able to do is regulate it to such a point that only criminals and the very rich could afford to endeavor in the field.

Fortunately, technology has helped to thwart the efforts of tight-asses and once again put porn and all it's riches in the hands of the common human. On a wave started by the home video camera, the Internet soaked the world with free smut and has made ordinary people into millionaires. The regulators of fun (better known as the government) never knew what hit them. But don't feel too secure. The powers that be are far more tight-assed that the ones from the early days of Internet porn.

Presently, the EU (European Union) is vacillating on the subject of banning cookies. Foolishly, they understand enough about browser codes to be scared of them, but not enough to realize how essential cookies are to Internet trade.

The US Justice Department (so sexually immature, they spent $8000 to buy curtains to cover an aluminum statue that reveals one breast) will remember they declared war on Internet pornography as soon as they wrap up their terrorist skirmish. The puritanical Attorney General hasn't forgotten us; he's just been busy with other stuff. Eventually, he'll get around to his original dream of making Internet sex go away.

Even if the EU or the USAG don't do irreparable damage to online porn, online porn will still change. Just like smaller ISPs are closing down across the nation, smaller porn businesses will suffer. Bandwidth costs don't look to be decreasing and when broadband finally kicks in, it's quite possible only huge corporations will be able to supply broadband connections. Certain credit card companies already make us jump through flaming hoops because they can. If all these "legitimate" regulators and rule makers ever figure out how to make money from the Internet without porn, we may be in trouble. A lot of us look toward the non-adult market for the future.

Some of us came from the non-adult market. The Internet as a business or occupation is such a recent phenomenon, people who've only been involved five or so years are considered old-timers. A completely different group than print and filmed porn drives online adult. A completely different group than television networks and publishing houses power the Internet. The World Wide Web is a medium not yet understood. The ones at its helm are making it up as they go along.

For one rare time in human history, the playing fields are level. The game is being invented as it's played. Anyone can catch the ball and win the game because the game has just begun.

Just because you are working on the adult end of online commerce, never feel you are lesser than the others are. In fact, you are cutting the edges of the pattern. You are creating the future form of Internet commerce and entertainment. You are making history.
