As every morning I woke up today, jumped on the pc and checked e-mail. It is a nice, cold December morning. I see some friends on ICQ and say "Hello." Getting into a conversation with one of them I asked "How is business?" They hesitated, then replied, "Slow, this time of the year it is to be expected." In fact on many accounts I agree with this statement because of the holidays this time of year, but I also have to disagree too...

"Plan your work, then work your plan." |
Well think about it. Are you one of those people that wake up in the morning and see it raining outside and say to yourself, "Oh, this is going to be a bad day." Most people let external things in their lives and/or conventional wisdom take hold, so then they fall into the trap.
Conventional Wisdom tells us that this is the slow time of the year. That people are out doing other things and not paying attention as much to their selection of porn on the internet. In some respects it is true that this occurs during this season, it is also true that some webmasters rake in more money right now then any other time of the year.

How can that be???
Since many webmasters believe that this time of the year is slow they actually loosen up their own daily routines which then directly causes this fact to be true for them. When you slow down on working, so does the money coming in. Because of this fact; you, the smart webmaster, can take advantage of the situation.
We are in a world of supply and demand, and we all admit the over saturation of webmasters and porn sites on the net right now. Guess what. . . Many webmasters have already begun to fall asleep for this season. What does this mean for you? Less competition!
If you work harder this time of the year, you have a huge opportunity to increase your business/service/exposure past others that start to hibernate. So you have a choice, do you listen to what everyone is saying and sabotage yourself too, or do you take this as an opportunity to make more money!
The choice is yours.
This time of the year is also the perfect time to reflect back on the past year and to take an assessment of your business. Did you reach your goals? Did you make the income you planned on making this year? Did you work the hours you planned? Hey. . .Do you even have goals?
With some of the "extra" time that you might find on your hands, you should take the opportunity to plan for the future year. What did you learn this past year good or bad? What things do you need to change or do differently in this new year so you can take your business to the next level? At the old saying goes, "Plan your work, then work your plan."
I hope everyone had a safe and profitable 2001, and greater successes in 2002!
