    3 Reasons Why Your Paysite Tour Matters!

What? You think sex just sells itself? If that's what you think, old ladies from the south have a saying for people like you:

Bless your heart.

If you're not familiar with this sweet-sounding bit of southern comment, it's not a blessing. It's a polite way of saying you're a dumbfuck.

Yes. Sex sells. This is true. But it needs help. For one thing, surfers have to know there is sex for sale. They have to know that when they shell out cash, they're going to get nasty, dirty porn in return. They want bargains. They want trustworthy vendors. They want to be led by the hand and shown exactly how everything's going to work out. They want you to give them a reason why they should pay money to enter your paysite when there are thousands of free porn pages on the Internet. The most important destination for your potential customers is your paysite tour. Here are three reasons why:

    1. Affiliates Can only do so Much.

Thank god for your trusted affiliates, right? Every day, they're out there hustling for you. Beating the bushes and flushing out leads. These busy bees invest their own time and bandwidth to send you potential customers. You reward them with payouts, bonuses and extra goodies for high-performing signup ratios. They are clever, driven and work all hours of the day. If they weren't there for you, you would be the one schlepping for traffic and would have little time left over for your site members. The problem is that affiliates can only get the perverts in the door. They have no power over the payment process and once that surfer opens your tour, it's up to you to close the deal. All the gallery building, sales copy writing and traffic generation from your affiliates means nothing if your tour is meh.

Keep this in mind, your affiliates work like mad to build you up. Why should they send a surfer your way if all you're going to do is present them with some snore-inducing collection of words and photos? When you disappoint the surfer you've done more than lose a sale, you've lost your affiliate a site visitor. Eventually, if you keep serving up a crappy tour, you're going to lose your affiliates. Then you'll have to do all that hustling yourself and that will compromise your ability to maintain a proper paysite.

    2. Your Member's area is Irrelevant.

If they can't see inside, what good is an awesome member's area? That's like showing someone a lump covered in a tarp and telling them there is an Aston Martin Volante underneath. The stupidest yokel won't believe you. While it's true that images and video of hot people having sex can make a person lose the ability to think clearly, the prospect of spending money snaps them back to lucidity, instantly. Your tour is your one and only chance to convince a surfer to buy your product. If you fill your tour with confusing language and unclear terms of service, all the amazing graphics in the universe won't help. If you make a tour where the design hogs a visitor's resources, the user will assume that the member's area is just as bad. If your tour leaves the potential customer wondering what the hell you're doing, you have failed.

Your tour takers want to know what they're paying for. They want to know what makes your member's area so special. Until they become paying subscribers, the only reference they have is your tour. Assurances of "Best Porn Site in Cyberspace!" or "Our Hot Babes are the Hottest!" don't mean shit. You've got to explicitly detail what a surfer will get if they become a member. That means descriptive, informative sales text and screenshots of member areas. It means you must always assume that you are describing your paysite to someone that's never been to a porn site before.

    3. Your Tour is your Pitch

As stated in reasons one and two, your affiliates only bring you the leads and members can't see inside your paid content area. Your tour is where the heavy lifting is done. Your tour makes or breaks you. You've got to make those click-through pages so tempting, so mouth-watering that user won't be scared off when he or she faces that final, clinical sign-up form. You've got to create a tour that amazes them so much, they will gladly fill in their credit card information. It's imperative that your tour talks up every, single member benefit, simply and sexily. Scores of paysite owners will tell you that they lose hundreds of customers on the signup page. Taking your tour is the moment of truth. The tour is the closer. If you can't win them in your tour, you can't win.
