Think about the title, it says a lot. On the entire web, the adult industry is the only industry that uses this approach. Unlike most non adult sites that are out there to get traffic, and hopefully make some cash from advertisement, many adult sites have one goal - to sell.

"Before you start to build your site, make sure you understand what makes the surfers interested in a specific niche." |
So what does that mean for you when it's time to build your site? It means that in every part of your design you need to have one thing on your mind, how can I get the surfers to go to my sponsors and buy a membership. The other thing you must keep in mind are the rules of the link sites you want to submit your site to, make sure you follow them, cause a great site with no traffic isn't worth much.
In this article I'm going to talk a bit about ideas, methods, and other stuff that worked for me and other webmasters. The best thing you can do after you finish reading my article is to test these ideas along with the ones you have, change them, combine them together, do what ever you think is right, until you find your own formula.
Surfers recognize advertisements and they don't like it much ;) This is why you need to make the advertisement blend in to your site as much as you can.
Use odd size banners that don't look too much like banners, try to use banners that have similar or the same background as your site. When you are using "text links" don't just use selling lines like " The Biggest Sex Site In The World ", talk to your surfer like he's your friend, talk about the site you are trying to sell like you are a member and you are telling your surfer how much fun you have.
Another good idea is to talk about the banner. Let's say you have a cumshot site with some mild cumshot pics. Take a banner with a really messy facial and say something like - "Think these pics are nasty? Take a look at this." Another method is to talk about the pictures you have on your site, since they are just previews from your sponsor. So you can write about all the naughty things the girl on your site does, and then say "You can see it only on yoursponsor.com - click here to see it live".
When a surfer comes to your site he's looking for some free porn, more often than not, he's not even thinking about buying a membership to a pay site.
You need to make him want to buy it. So how are you going to do that? Very simple, you just need to take advantage of one known fact: "horny guys don't think straight". So in simple words build your site to be hot enough to make the surfers horny but not too hot (if they cum you lost a sale), and make them think your sponsors have what they came for.
You have many tools for that and the most important one is text links. If your Text links is just about how many pics & movies your sponsor have, it's not good enough. Instead try to tease your surfer. Vividly Describe to him the things he will see on your sponsor's site, and then don't forget to say "click here". I'm not saying don't mention that your sponsor has 30,000 pics, but giving your surfer a clear mental image about what the content looks like is even better.
Another important way of doing that is by simply using softcore content and hardcore banners and text links. You can even do it for hardcore niches. For example, if you are building an oral site, try to use mild pics that won't show the actual blow job, just the beginning. I can go on and on, but the bottom line is: Use your site to tease & make your surfer want more so that it makes your sponsor's site look like the perfect place to get more of what they want.

The adult world consists of many niches from the big general one's like : mature, gay to very specific ones like : facials, uniform, face smothering etc. Before you start to build your site, make sure you understand what makes the surfers interested in a specific niche. A good way of doing that is looking at pay site tours, other free sites, and doing a key word search. Surfers are looking for a site with attitude, so try to figure out what your surfer wants to see and hear. Your goal is to sell that to him.
For example: If you build an amateur site, don't call the girls sluts, talk about them like the girl next door - that is what your surfer wants to see.
Preparing Your Surfer To Dish Out Cash
Like I mentioned before, surfers are visiting your site looking for free porn. So before you send them to your sponsor you might want to make sure they understand the are going to have to pay.
Since no one likes to pay, try to make the payment thing to look like it's no big deal. You can compare prices and say " 200,000 movies cost you less than renting at the video store " or "Less then 3 lousy bucks" Either way, don't use it as your main selling strategy. Keep in mind that surfers don't visit your site to compare pay sites, just mention it enough to make the surfer understand he is going to pay.
Now this is an idea you have to test for yourself, it works well in some cases and work less in others. It depends on various factors such as your sponsor's free tour, the niche you are dealing with (some niches are harder to find for free and there are more likely to make a sale), the source and quality of your traffic. Just don't say free when it isn't free, unless you are planning on getting and sending huge amounts of traffic, in which case you should really consider starting your own pay site! :-)
Hope this helps and remember, always try to implement your own ideas and come up with your own strategy. No better way to perfect the art that with basic trial and error. I will be doing an article soon with some helpful design tips to help increase your FREE site profits. Until then, keep your cash rollin'!
