    Adult Blogs and Advertising!

    By Titmowse | Writer @ CozyFrog | OCT.18.2007
It's good to be an adult webmaster. We know which sponsors pay and we know exactly what to expect from them. Adult sponsors don't care if our blogs are filled with pictures of asses and boobs. No adult sponsor is going to ban me or close my account because I have posted the word "fuck" on my blog or linked to a porn site. In fact, adult sponsors tend to encourage that sort of thing.

"The concern for many adult webmasters that are experimenting with blogging is how to mix adult sponsor ads with a journal page format. "
The concern for many adult webmasters that are experimenting with blogging is how to mix adult sponsor ads with a journal page format. We can't all make porn site review blogs. Posting about hot, dirty bitches is cool but some of us would like to write less about sex and more about everything else. Sure, we want to be able to pontificate on adult topics but writing about porn in lascivious, hard-sell fashion is pretty damned draining after a short while. I suppose one could outsource the task but that's for veterans, more financially able to do so than the small or new adult webmaster.

I'm not going to feed you that whole bit about "thinking creatively" this time. You know by now that you can build a blog based on virtually any subject and stand a fair chance of garnering a decent following as long as you blog often and earnestly. If you're a skate punk then blog about decks and post sponsor ads for goth porn paysites. If you learned a lot shooting your own content, then blog about how to shoot porn and slap up a bunch of webmaster referral ads from adult sponsors. Really now, must I go on when you have great ideas of your own?

As I said, it's good to be an adult webmaster and to delve into the blogging fray with the skills and tools of our experience. Because we learn how to code webpages as Internet pornographers, there's no WordPress template we can't manipulate and personalize. Because we're experienced with PhotoShop and other graphics programs, we can make our own funny images, clever animations and other eye candy, so popular on blogs. Search engine optimization? Pfft! We are the SE masters! You want to talk about the kings of layout and effective ad placement? Talk to a porn webmaster, we know our stuff! You think all these mainstream bloggers have one iota of of the web-based marketing experience that an adult webmaster has? Think again!

Still for all their awesome wonderfulness, adult sponsors, I can't help but be totally envious of the damned bastards that came up with the concept for BlogAds. (www.blogads.com) The business model is ingenious. If you want to advertise you site or product on a popular blog, all you have to do is open a BlogAds account, create a text or graphic ad and pay your money. Boom. Your ad is online, on the site you choose, targeting the audience you want. If you have a site that gets 1000 or more uniques a day, then advertisers can pay you to post ads on your blog. Presto-change-o. You make money! Great idea. Only a couple of problems. BlogAds pretty much stopped accepting new blog publishers that want to sell ad space. And of course, Blogads terms of service are super hazy when it comes to porn content. Most of the blogs that offer ad space on BlogAds are mainstream sites, especially the high-traffic ones. Just the same. Those BlogAds are sweet.

Good news. There is a BlogAds type site called CrispAds (www.crispads.com). It appears to be much more adult-friendly and is new enough to be open to both advertisers and publishers. CrispAds features a special category for sites containing Adult Sexual Content. However, never having dealt with the company, I cannot say how well they pay or if the service is worth the time or money. The site doesn't give much info on exactly who uses the service or on which blogs the ads appear.

Better news. Those rascally scamps at AVN heard my secret prayer. AVN ads (www.avnads.com) are almost like BlogAds but better because for one thing, AVN pays adult webmasters. For another, with BlogAds, one had a choice between either a text ad or a forced-sized banner/sidebar ad. With AVN Ads, the advertiser can choose between text, three image formats plus one can go with Interstitial/Full Page ads. I knew some enterprising pornographer would come up with an adult version of BlogAds, I'm just glad it was a name as trusted as AVN.

So, go. Blog. Find an adult sponsor and make some money with your blog. advertise your porn blog with AVN Ads or your more mainstream blog on BlogAds. If you have a busy blog, consider opening up some ad space to other folks through the AVN program. It's good to be an adult webmaster who blogs!
