    One Solid Site!

    By Titmowse | Writer @ CozyFrog | FEB.15.2010
Call it what you will: your main site, your only site, your favorite site, your Hub site. Whatever you call it, build it, nurture it and treat it like your growing child.

Why build one solid site? Because of one of the basic tenets of the sales business:

Repeat customers are the best customers.

"It’s no wonder adult webmasters see most surfers as freeloaders. When we create these build-em-and-forget-em pages, what do we expect? Loyalty? Galleries and mini-sites are the virtual equivalent of one-night stands."
Let’s get real. When you make that mini page or submit that hundredth gallery, you’re dependent on the whims of your surfers. In order to make any sort of money on these flimsy sites you have to get several thousand unique hits each day and if you don’t grab them by the wallet/dicks immediately, they’re gone forever. They don’t come back to re-view your 20 pics or three measly galleries. Every damned day you build and submit, build and submit and you barely get a chance to build a rapport with your surfers, much less a trust-based relationship.

Think of your own real-life shopping habits. Surely you have a few businesses that you return to again and again because you know they will treat you the way you want to be treated. Your favorite restaurant, clothing store or pharmacy. You keep going back to them. You trust them. You know what the clerks are like and where the items you need are displayed. You know when new merchandise is in and you have enough faith in the opinion of the sales staff to tell you whether or not a purchase is worth the price. You might browse that new shop but you’re more likely to spend money at the familiar shop.

This same philosophy applies to an adult website. Surfers are a cautious bunch when it comes to spending money. How many times have you seen gallery or mini-site visitors click all the way to the signup page only to turn back? Paysites tours are effective but they aren’t magical. Everything’s yummy and good until people get to the serious business of forking over cash. How many thousands of fleeting surfers ignore your sponsor links and sales copy altogether? They open your four video clips and then they click right back to the MGP listings to search for someone else’s porn. It’s no wonder adult webmasters see most surfers as freeloaders. When we create these build-em-and-forget-em pages, what do we expect? Loyalty? Galleries and mini-sites are the virtual equivalent of one-night stands. After the deed is done visitors want to get out as fast as possible. The thing is, those same surfers keep coming back to that TGP or Toplist, day after day after day.

You can bet your bottom dollar that successful TGP or Toplist site owner massages, updates and cares for his/her solid site like precious baby. A TGP is a solid site. An MGP is a solid site. An adult Toplist is a solid site. These webmasters build up a loyal following of bookmarkers and repeat traffic. These solid webmasters paste up their own sponsor ads. Their visitors might not buy on the first visit but the more they keep coming back, the more they begin to really look and read those ads. The more they begin to trust that their favorite site owner isn’t full of crap. Them more they begin to like that wonderful person who gives them that nasty free smut. Feelings like appreciation or guilt begin to prey on their minds. They buy something because they come to the realization that nice webmaster deserves to make a living.

This is the power of one solid site. Repetition. Trust. Appreciation. Guilt. If you can keep surfers coming back, you can turn them into paying customers as opposed to fly-by-night freeloaders.

Build one solid site. Make it a blog. Make it a TGP or a Toplist. Make it whatever the hell you want but make it worth visiting and re-visiting. Make it a place that a guy can tell his friends about. Update it with fresh content regularly. Fiddle with new layouts and design elements every once in while. Add categories and sub categories. Treat it like it was a living, growing thing. If you want to keep making one-off galleries or mini-sites, do that too but make sure to link to them from within your site. Make a site that search engines and surfers will remember. Make yourself one solid site.
