An Interstitial Ad is single page that acts as pause button between a link and the page/site it leads to. As an example, say you’ve got a link on your front page to a sub-page gallery. Instead of sending your surfer to yet another collection of pics that he intends to view for free, send them to an Interstitial Ad page. Have it read something along the lines of "Before you visit this gallery, take a moment to read about this amazing paysite". Below that, insert a nice, large-size, clickable sponsor banner. Below that include a link to the gallery and your front page. Make the text and the ads large enough that your surfer has to scroll down to get to the free gallery link.
I realize you may find this shocking but even porn surfers are amenable to reading text. Most surfers, no matter the type, get bored after a few paragraphs but will happily scan a few lines of words. What’s more, when you preface your paysite banner or text link some delicious sales copy, a higher percent of your visitors will actually click to go to the place that you suggest. When you insert relative keywords into that sales copy, your site or page is more likely to appear in search engine results. In other words, don’t create graphics-only page. Type some words in there and make them snappy.

You know that awesome gallery software that auto-submits your creations to a bunch of TGPs? Blogs do pretty much the same thing - only better, faster and more productively. Blog software automatically pings RSS aggregators each and every time you publish a single entry. Aside from the search-engine advantages of the text-based, syndicated content, blog software is a damned fine CMS. Not only will you be able to easily publish updates, each time you click a "save" or "publish" button, your entire sites is re-ordered and auto-archived. This means that your older entries won’t get lost in the bowels of your hosting account. Surfers will be able to locate any entry, any tag, any category, at anytime. Install a blog. Write a little something every day and very soon, you’ll acquire one of the most valuable commodities on the adult Internet - return traffic.
No. You can’t submit galleries made with sponsor content to a TGP or MGP. But seriously, have you taken a look at sponsor content lately? With some of the sales tools today’s sponsors give you, you can literally build an army of little free sites, chock full of yummy, often sponsor-hosted, porn. Gallery generators. Faux tube sites. Configurable video theaters and players. RSS feeds. Go ahead, create that hub site with purchased content but when you build those little spoke sites, stuff them with sponsor content.
I love my sponsors but sometimes their approved banners, text links and tours leave something to be desired. The solution? Make your own. Read the rules first because some sponsors won’t accept the practice. But if your sponsor allows you to make homemade sales tools, do it. Just remember not to promise your surfers things you’re not actually selling. Take it further. Get in touch with your sponsor and ask them if you can use some of their content or snag a few of their graphics to use in your handmade promotions.
