    Art of Writing Seductive Content!
    By Cyndalie | Writer @ CozyFrog | SEP.13.2006

Let me be the first to say that while I am quite experienced in many writing styles, I'm a novice when it comes to writing erotic content. Sure I've tried my hand at a few sex stories, written my fair share of press releases, articles, website content, and descriptions, but to call myself and 'erotic content writer' would be a stretch.

"The power of text is becoming more important as users become banner-blind and the prevalence of text links and contextual text based ads grows."
However, one thing I've realized is that you don't have to be a sex story writer to learn the basics of writing erotic content for your adult sites. (Overall being a good writer with a large vocabulary never hurts.) In fact, writing sexy content is a daily activity for most adult webmasters. From tour pages to gallery descriptions and coming up with enriched keyword strong, effective attention grabbing and click encouraging text is what it's all about. Words and imagery are our number one tools in communicating to our users.

Images can grab attention. This is frequently evident when comparing the number of clicks generated from image based banners to text based banners. And the power of text is becoming more important as users become banner-blind and the prevalence of text links and contextual text based ads grows. The blend and buildup of written erotic content on your website can encourage a user to do things, want things, and create wish fulfillment. Where the user can do, get, and receive these things they are now interested in or desire - inside your website of course.

When writing any type of content for your website, keep in mind you are selling the “more” left unrevealed. In fact, all this communication is rooted in marketing and sales. Given the tone is sexual, and sexual preferences vary widely, remember that your site is something unique that you are selling, the tone and words you apply to every gallery and description should carry the tone that users learn to identify with your site.

In the marketing world, there are a few rules that apply when writing effect ad text, and these still apply when promoting erotic content. The idea is to seduce your users into wanting more, and ultimately to become a paying customer.

    SEOductive?

From general research and thinking into this topic, I realized that many of the tips for writing seductive and enticing content relate in similar ways to SEO advantages and content writing tips.

For example: Write your ad or letter, and then replace some of the common words with unexpected, interesting ones like - KEYWORDS.

Integrating unique keywords with primary keywords can help you rank above the competition, as the search engine may see that you are applying this high competitive key in a NEW way and give it more relevance. Kind of like "porn fence" versus "porn pics" for the search "porn", the odd word may take prevalence. This was often true in the days of old, and as algorithms tend to cycle, may be something worth a try.

Deciding on what perspective to speak to the user is another important decision. A porn site stating “we offer the best porn” is giving away the fact that the site is, perhaps corporate. Who is “we” when you are promoting porn? Single girl sites present themselves more frequently in the first person “I update my site daily” or as a presentation “the best place exclusive content of this solo model”.

The point on perspective is to understand how the user will interpret it and maintain a consistent environment from tour to members area. Keeping what you say in present text can make it more exciting. Treat it as a part of your brand.

A final point on this open ended topic is to hold on to mystery.

Keep some things, both specific and hinting, left to the users imagination. Give them something they will find worth paying to see even after they have seen everything free out there. Understand the tone of which you are describing your content. As a male, or female, which would you click first: “Sexy babe gets throat fucked like a dirty whore” , “Cutie deep throats cock like an expert” or “Sexy hooker throat fucks cock”? If all 3 of those links went to the same gallery, which do you think would initiate a tone that would convert more sales?

Given a “dirty whore” gallery leading to an angelic over 18 site would make a user somewhat confused and possibly misled into how hardcore the content actually gets. Then again, perhaps they are looking for the dirty angelic whore (who isn't?).

Regardless of your choice in how you describe your content to your users, this freedom of speech can have both beneficial effects on your search engine optimization efforts as well as your efforts to seduce your users into a sale. No matter what you are promoting, or your approach, simply remember to keep it interesting and unique.

No more “Best ___ on the net! ” or “100% Exclusive Content” or “Thousands of movies”. Be specific and stand out, maintain and update your efforts on a grand scale!

And by all means, if you are a great writer, take your visitors on an adventure! Create stories to go along with your galleries, tell them where it started, lead them to the finish; inside your member's area! Words can be very powerful, communicate all aspects of your users experience and they will better identify to become a part of the world you create.
