One million adult sites? I doubt it. I won't give an estimate but come on. What would a count even signify? The total number of porn sites is irrelevant. What's relevant is you've got to work your ass off if you want to make a living in Internet porn. You have to diligent but you must also be innovative. It isn't that all the good keywords and domain names are taken. It's that all the obvious keywords and domains are taken. Truth is the obvious stuff has been in the hands of the early birds for almost ten years. That's why niche marketing has become an industry mainstay.

A niche site is an adult site where the content is made from a sub-category of general-purpose porn like hardcore, softcore, straight and gay. Niche porn is compartmentalized smut. Promoting niche porn is simply the process of targeted marketing.

Human beings have extraordinarily diverse tastes when it comes to sexual entertainment. Some prefer certain body parts like boobs or asses. Some like to watch pretty lesbians. Others like to jerk off to guys in uniforms. Possibly millions want to see their sex with ropes and whips.

What's more amazing about adult niches is that we discover a new one almost every week. From BangBus to MILFHunter, who knew the reality niche would have so many permutations? Let's not forget the unsung hero of the adult web, the Amateur niche. Where would the adult Internet be if webmasters had pushed only porn star/centerfold content? We ignored the common consensus and discovered that adult surfers really love Amateurs to the tune of millions. Almost every adult webmaster has given up on general-purpose, kitchen sink porn. We're all pimping some niche, or two or six.
