Godzilla niches are big, bigger than all the other niches. So big, the word "
niche" is but a puny noun in need of an enormous modifier. In the previous article, I gave you an historical description of three Godzilla Niches, Amateur, Coed/Cheerleader and the Gay niche. I explained that the Amateur Niche is the one that made the adult Internet a force to be reckoned with. The Coed/Cheerleader Niche forced us to realize that the porn audience can't be split into the even halves of softcore fans and hardcore fans. The Gay Niche exemplified the spirit of Godzilla in that it is far too powerful and far too massive to be outlined as a mere sub-category of porn.
In the second portion of our program I will describe three more Godzilla Niches, plus I will cover the advantages and disadvantages of promoting these titans of online smut.

Inevitably, even the powers of porn give way to the need for human contact or at least, email exchanges and live chat. Granted, viewing dirty pictures and video satisfies us physically but being able to actually meet another human being and have sex is so much better.
The latter 1990's saw the advent of the adult personals site. From the get go, the adult personals site offered something dating sites didn't: Sex. Yes, millions of people want a lifemate but there are millions more that want to express their sexuality in an accepting environment. While other webmasters searched furiously for existing kinks that had a following, some other folks decided to invent not only a new kink but a new niche that turned into a Godzilla. Bangbus opened in early 2001 and it's been one crazy reality-based adventure ever since.
Instead of scripted, staged porn made in studios, the Bang Brothers took their show on the road in a van. While the scenes are just as "created" as those before, this POV approach combined the home movie with the dirty fantasy of impromptu sexual encounter. Also referred to as Gonzo, this niche pays homage to the road-trip reportage of Hunter S. Thompson, only with more sex and no Nixon.
Still crazy popular, this Godzilla Niche is a testament to the ingenuity of the individual webmaster. Currently, several major sponsors feature sites with POV/Reality porn content.
Japanese animation began to creep into American popular culture sometime during the early 1990's. During those same years, cartoons and comic books began to rise up the ladder of legitimacy because of nostalgia and the success of television shows like The Simpsons and Beavis and Butthead. MTV's Liquid Television aired a collection of both American-made and Japanese toons that were definitely for adults.
Anime on its own was highly erotic but Hentai was downright pornographic and naturally, adult webmasters got in on the good thing. Unlike real-life porn models, toon models don't need to show ID or get paid. At first, the content was hard to find and many an unscrupulous folk simply stole the stuff from rightful owners. That all changed with exclusive cartoon content providers like Cozy Flash. This Niche is wildly trendy with surfers not only because they crave the imagery but because drawn smut and animations are browser friendly and its stars are the epitome of ideal.
If you are considering a new niche or your first niche, then like the big, green guy, you can't ignore these Godzilla Niches. The advantage is that these six niches are the ones guaranteed to peak the interest of potential customers, surfing on the web for porn. These are the niches with millions of horny fans. These are the niches that are proven to sell. The disadvantage is that you will not be the only webmaster pushing these kinds of sites. Sex sells itself but too many salesman lessen your chance to make big gains.
