    Goth Porn!
    By Titmowse | Writer @ CozyFrog | OCT.02.2007

What is Goth? What is Punk? Why should you care?

"It is a lifestyle. Goth fans live it, breathe it and endure a lot of crap for it. Goth ain't going nowhere and neither is the porn made for its fans."
As an adult webmaster, you should care because the Goth/Punk niche is both popular and lucrative. Mind you, the niche isn’t new. It’s been around for a good number of years. In fact, it’s been around long enough to have survived the "fad" phase. Let me be bold and predict that Goth/Punk porn will be with us for many years to come. After all, Punk has been around since the nineteen seventies. Some would say it existed earlier than that. The point is that Punk or Goth (or whatever you want to call it) is not a mere fashion statement. It is a lifestyle. Goth fans live it, breathe it and endure a lot of crap for it. Goth ain’t going nowhere and neither is the porn made for its fans.

Let’s tackle the hard part, defining Goth and/or Punk. Some say the two are the same. Others would cut you for even mentioning such sacrilege. Nevertheless, having been a quasi-punk in my youth (translation: new waver) I will attempt to interpret for you.

Punk is cheap. I am not saying that punk is worthless. I’m saying that materialism is the antithesis of punk. I’m saying that the person who goes to the beauty shop and spends $200.00 for electric blue hair is not punk. A real punk does it with Clorox and food dye. A real punk does not shop at Hot Topic. A real punk buys his or her clothes at Goodwill. A real punk does not go to the mall and have some clinician pierce his or her eyebrow with a diamond stud. A real punk pierces their own eyebrow with their own safety pin and that safety pin is the jewelry. When a punk needs a sofa, a punk looks in the alley.

Goth is expensive. Goth is antique furniture and crystal goblets. Goth is velvet capes and silk brocade shoes. Goth is the antebellum American south, described in Anne Rice novels. Goth is about looking rich, dead rich. Goth is elaborate makeup and perfectly styled hair. Goth is vampire fantasies and blood play. Goth is dirge-like music whereas Punk is the sound of hyper-kinetic anger. Goth is an homage to a romanticized past while Punk is fuck the future. Goth is pretty. Punk is not.

The differences between Goth and Punk matter because as I explained, these are lifestyles. Say what you will but these are people that have lost jobs and been assaulted for the way they look and they still continue to dress and act according to their codes. When I dressed new wave in the eighties, I saw mothers grab their children in fear. I had strangers scream obscenities at me as I walked down the street. Just a few years ago there was a boy in my town murdered simply because he sported a green mohawk. If you want to promote the Goth or Punk niche, you better familiarize yourself with the culture.

Granted, you’ll probably get a lot of surfers that look at your content in order to point and laugh but you’ll get more signups if you show some respect.

Mind you, on the surface, the differences between Goth and Punk are barley discernable. Both feature pallid people with crazy hair, piercings galore and tattoos tattoos tattoos. The truth is, calling your models Punks or Goths probably won’t deter the fans. Fortunately, another advantage is that both Punks and Goths like sex and sexual imagery. Goths especially, favor the bondage element and fetish wear. Many are the BDSM sites that feature Goth models. In reality, it’s probably safe to assume that most of this porn is primarily Goth porn.

A few years ago, there was maybe one Goth/punk site on the net. Today, there are more sites, more content providers and more sponsors but not nearly enough. Finding these sponsors and content providers can be a troublesome task. Here is a list of some:

A really great portal for reading reviews of Goth/punk porn sites is British-based Jane’s Guide @ http://www.janesguide.com.

The Goth/Punk porn niche is fun and serious at the same time. The content is unique, silly, beautiful and occasionally scary. A lot of it mixes soft core/solo model imagery with the harshness of multiple piercings, torn fishnets, fetish wear and vivid color. Goth or Punk. Punk or Goth. This is a niche worth promoting!
