    We Love Micro Niches!
    By Titmowse | Writer @ CozyFrog | OCT.10.2008

Ah, categorization. No easy picnic.

Your site is a little of this, a little of that and kind of unique. You get traffic. Not crazy traffic but you get some. Your content is unusual but not inconceivable. You were able to find some sponsors that compliment your adult website. You know a couple of other webmasters pushing your obscure niche. You understand the market and you have a good idea how to sell the product. The only problem might come from link sites and top lists that don't yet provide a category for your Micro Niche. The fact is, if you know one or two webmasters promoting it and a couple of sponsors with similar sites in their portfolios, there are undoubtedly people who patronize Micro Niches like yours.

"The fact is, if you know one or two webmasters promoting it and a couple of sponsors with similar sites in their portfolios, there are undoubtedly people who patronize Micro Niches like yours."
I really love one of the first Micro Niches I ever discovered: Armpit Fetishists. For a while, there there were a few straight armpit porn sponsors. Now there are several gay armpit sponsors. I love it because I can imagine armpit sex. I can understand the likelihood of armpit sex. It's a fetish that doesn't strike me as too icky or ouchie. I like armpit porn because it is the perfect example of a feasible Micro Niche. It is unusual. It is intriguing. It has a fan base.

I spent a lot of time digging deep into the adult sexual psyche and pulled out a lot of obscure niches over the years. From violet wands to naughty nuns. Some are hilarious. Others have some very serious advocates. What I tried to do is look for real-life groups with message boards and local meetups. I felt that if they had a physical component, there could be a cyber component. If you do an Advanced Search at Cozy Frog and type in 'Niches', you'll find a whole bunch of articles on rare, interesting and actual things people do to get off.

The main thing we love about Micro Niches is their attention-getting quality. Because you're dealing with content and keywords that are less common, you have the chance to raise your standing with your target audience, search-wise.

Because your imagery is less well known, you will be dealing with smaller content providers or possibly lower prices from mega-content producers. You might have to pay to have your content created. If so, be doubly sure that there's a viable commercial enterprise for your Micro Niche. See if there are non-commercial web groups, mailing lists or online classifieds that advertise for fans of your niche. Search non-adult message boards and sub forums. Maybe we're wrong here, but our theory is, if 50 people are doing it in real life, there could be thousands wanting to do it/see it online.

Yes, there are men out there who grow hardons when they see photos of women doing odd things or wearing medical braces. As long as everybody is an adult and contracts were signed and nobody's breaking the law, who is to say what is wrong?

If you're looking for a Micro-Niche sponsor, that's easy but tedious. Some of the larger sponsor programs will offer just about every niche you can imagine and some you never thought of. Then there are those little one or two site sponsors who have just the stuff you need. Make note of sponsors that feature a Fetish category. They often own at least one site that will blend with the theme of your Micro Niche. You don't have to match your content to your sponsor's. Actually, you should try to avoid a match. With Micro Niche traffic you want to pay special attention to your surfer's open mind. If your niche is super micro, then you hope your visitor is amenable to something similar but more tantalizing, something that will make you affiliate money.

From a perusal of strap-on porn sites, there's quite a few of them. Apparently a lot of people want to see women cornhole guys and they're willing to pay for it. If you're looking for a Micro Niche that aims to please, this one sounds like a winner.

Tomorrow you'll find there's a new Micro Niche that's risen to the top of the heap. Human beings are fascinating creatures and the brain is the most important sex organ of all. Sure, dildo porn was predictable but who would have anticipated fucking machines? Who know what Micro Niche will become a standard niche in the future? Remember when Amateur porn seemed exotic and iffy? Remember not believing that Mature porn would take off? Take a gander at MILF porn. Same niche, now legendary.

Consider it. A niche that is underexploited. Keywords and domain names that are so open you can gobble them up like candy. Audiences that are grateful to find their jack-off material and just looking for some respect and content. Go see for yourself. Read my Niche articles. Browse through sponsors, especially fetish ones. Get on the stick and search for content providers. Build your site and you'll see why We Love Micro Niches!
