** This Event Took Place On: June 25 - 27, 2001!
I was fortunate enough to make it to the Internext convention this year. I've put in a few years in this business, so it was pretty hard for me to grasp the fact that this was my first show. I've seen online interviews, pictures and coverage of previous shows, but never had the chance to get my ass to attend one. I must say that I was very excited about the whole thing and now that the show is behind me, I can say that it did a lot of good in terms of networking with others in the same business.

For one thing, I will make sure I visit on a more regular basis, there are so many interesting people to meet and so many interesting things to learn. Having the show in Las Vegas is an obvious added incentive!
The first day of the show was pretty busy, in fact the busiest day. Started out by taking a walk around the floor getting familiar with the environment and composing my game plan. While I was roaming around with my partner, I ran into Dirt-E from Porn Resource, we talked for a few. The one thing I noticed was that the event as a whole wasn't as BIG as I expected it to be. Later I learned that this show was in fact surprisingly smaller that the last few. There was still lots going and lots of eager visitors showed up to see what the majors and rookies had to offer.
In regards to the highlights for the first day, there were quite a few things going on. AdultCheck had their Grab Cash booth setup for lucky contestants to go up and try to grab as much cash as they could in a matter of minutes. CyberErotica was giving away a Hummer to one lucky winner and were also handing out all sorts of goodies like T-Shirts, lighters, food, flyers and passes to the infamous Player's Ball. Pay Counter had a BMW Z3 on the floor to give away. MaxCash had a large booth with an arcade and a live show with interviews and stuff. Hustler was there with attractive models ready and willing to sign autographs and pictures with attendees. VividVIP had a great looking booth setup and had some great looking models passing out their material. They were even blessed with the presence of Taylor Hayes and Jenna Jameson with whom I had the chance to take a picture with. BabeNet also had a very extensive booth setup with silver dressed models giving massages to attendees....Very Nice!
There were lots of cuties on the convention floor handing out all sorts of goodies like flyers, cars, condoms, lighters, mouse pads and magazines among other things!
I was impressed with both ARS and CCBill for showing up with a great booth and a pleasant staff. Thee CCBill team were extremely helpful and insightful, same with ARS who in their own right had a dozen computers setup for anyone to use. All of these booths were amongst the busiest throughout the whole day. YNOT and The Adult Webmaster also had a great staff and busy booths. I did notice one thing - the smaller companies had a hard time getting people to their corners due to the enormous amount of hype the larger companies were generating with their high end models and eye candy props.
After day one, we had a couple of bags full of promotional material, sorting through it won't be easy, I can tell you that. Heck, I even got this month's issue of Hustler for Free!
The first party at Utopia courtesy of PayCounter and LikeWhoa was pretty happening when we got there. Ran into lots of familiar faces from the show. You would be surprised how open everyone gets once they consume all that the open bar has to offer! I was hoping to see DJ Clue do his thing with the turntables, but he was a no show cause we were told he missed his flight. There were lots of good looking people and the music was good. Half the place was empty before 2 am, which I thought was pretty damn early, but with the show early in the morning, it was understandable. They also had a VIP outdoor balcony with a great view and DJ on the top floor. A lot of the BIG players were there mingling with business counterparts.
The second and third day of the show were very slow, I only stayed for a few hours cause I had some meetings with the casino tables (hehehe). There weren't many people around, and most of the day wasn't much different than the first. It seemed like everyone got pretty tired after a day and half and kind of just rolled along. Open Bar parties don't always bring out the best in you the next day.
Too finish off the event there was the much talked about Player's Ball coustesy of D-Money. The club was packed and Digital Underground opened the show for Snoop Dogg who in his turn rocked the place with some new and old school hits. He was on stage for a couple of hours, a lot longer than I expected. Jenna Jameson was also on stage dancing with Snoop and his crew which consisted of at least 40 people. Lots of great Pimp outfits on stage! Overall, I would say the party went very well.
Now that the show is over, I can look back and digest just how much good it did for me personally and our projects. Hung out with some some really cool people including, Ray and Chevy from StreamFlex, Laurie from the adult webmaster, The Whole CCBill Staff to name a few. Got some solid deals started and met some key players that I am very interested to work with. Now I just gotta get my shit together and make shit happen!
