    Interview With Electra @ OffCenterShow!
    By C-Pimp | Pimp @ CozyFrog | JUL.08.2001

Got my chance at another great interview, this time with the one and only Electra from OffCenterShow.com, the new online radio show catering to adult webmaters. She's been on the online adult scene for quite some time now and has worked along the best of 'em during the past couple of years. Always a pleasure...

C-Pimp: Can you start out by telling us a little about yourself, your online experience and how you fell on a spot at the OffCenterShow?

Electra: I came into the adult industry in 1998/1999 I think it was. I started as a columnist on the Condom Chronicles doing a column called News You Can Use.

Then I later became Content Editor there getting the articles for that paper and editing them. When I left Netpond I fell into this great job as Producer for the Sharky Live Show working with two of the greatest people in the industry, Sharky and Dokk. I think that will always be one of the jobs I enjoyed most and one where I learned a lot. Later on I produced Webmaster Live with just Dokk as the host. While I was producing shows as a part time job my partner Dravyk and I came up with the idea for All of 'Em , which is our webmaster resource. Dravyk had also started his radio show Sounding Point, and I became producer for that as well.

"It's very important. I consider myself a working webmistress and I often sit in chat rooms with a lot of great industry people who really know their stuff."
Dokk had asked me to do a radio show several times but it seemed to me that there were a lot of shows out there covering all the bases, and so I didn't feel I could contribute anything different. Then I talked with my good friend Bestat from Exclusive Content and we decided we would jointly host a radio show with the proviso that it was fun and that we could have on some of the people from the industry who don't usually get a chance to do radio shows. That's basically how Off Center Show started.

C-Pimp: I know your online show is still fairly new, I've listened to it a few times, and enjoy it very much. For those that aren't so familiar with the show, can you give us some info on what it's all about, when webmasters can tune in?

Electra: We air every Tuesday on Albumside from 9 pm to 10.30pm eastern. The show is a mixture of segments. We do "Starting Point", adult news stories of the week taken from the All of 'Em Adult News section. We do an interview every week with a webmaster or webmistress we feel has a good product or service that serves webmasters. We have some giveaways, for which we play games in the #Mainstage chat room . We also have Bestat's Pet Chat, Weird News, and we throw in some music. We try to do a little of everything and just have fun.

C-Pimp: How many people involved in keeping the online show together? You know, a little gossip on the OffCenter team.

Electra: Well Bestat and myself host the show. Jack who is Bestat's partner in Exclusive Content, put up our website and he did all the great graphics. And of course our engineer every week who we can't do without is the one and only Todd from Albumside.

C-Pimp: I noticed you give some of the smaller names in the business a chance to share their views on the show, how important was it for you guys to offer some of the lesser known successful webmasters a forum to voice their knowledge?

Electra: It's very important. I consider myself a working webmistress and I often sit in chat rooms with a lot of great industry people who really know their stuff. There are loads of webmasters out there offering great services and products that you hardly ever hear about. Off Center Show was the first show to have on a guest talking about TGP2 for instance. That was because I met LudeDude in Timewalker's chat room . He impressed me with his knowledge of TGP2's and I asked him on the show right away. That doesn't mean we don't have on more established webmasters. We just had on Rick Muenyong last week for instance. We just try and have on people who have something interesting to offer.

C-Pimp: I noticed your on ICQ quite a bit, a whole lot of time spent online, how many hours do you actually put into the show on a weekly basis?

Electra: My ICQ is actually up almost all the time I am on the net. You never know when a problem might crop up on All of 'Em, or a reviewer gets sick and might need a replacement, or when someone might just want to be a guest on Off Center Show. I couldn't say how many hours exactly its up, but it's a lot. Difficult to say how many hours go into the show itself. I don't sit down and do it all in one shot, it's a bit here and a bit there sort of thing.

C-Pimp: What kind of tidbits can you share with us on what exactly goes into getting a online webmaster show ready, arranging guests, preparing solid material to keep your listeners interested?

Electra: I usually start getting the show ready Thursday. The show airs Tuesday, then I like to take a day when I don't have to think about it at all, and then on Thursday I start looking for guests and giveaways and generally looking for trivia on the net for the chat room games, or looking for music we might want to play. Some of our listeners have accused me of picking "trivia from hell" for the chat room games, but I talk to these people in chats all the time and I know how smart they really are. I try and look for trivia and general knowledge that gives them a bit of a challenge.

C-Pimp: There are quite a few online radio shows catering to webmasters at the present time. What are some the aspects of your show that sets it apart from the rest?

Electra: I just think the fact that we do want to have on ordinary working webmasters and that we also try and do ours for fun. Bestat and I both agreed at the outset that when it stopped being fun we wouldn't do it any more. So far its still fun.

C-Pimp: So far which show to date as been your favorite, or any real funny on air mishaps that come to mind?

Electra: There was the one show when Bestat went to a webmasters conference and I did the show on my own. Of course that was the day our guest didn't show up, although he explained why later on. I can't remember how I got through that. I think I called my partner Dravyk and he filled in, but its always stressful on a live show when the guest doesn't answer the phone. We had a few mishaps like that on Webmaster Live when I was producing, and I would be panicking and having nosebleeds and Dokk would be like all calm and telling me "Its fine, no problem, we will just do this or do that or talk longer or play some music". He was incredible like that. I guess thats the difference between being an amateur and being a pro.

C-Pimp: Finally, six months down the road, what are your plans for the show, what kind of goodies you guys working on putting together for all your listeners?

Electra: We want to continue to be a show for the working webmaster, and to try and do segments that will be beneficial or be of help to webmasters in general. I have some new ideas for the show but at the moment we are happy with the format we have.

C-Pimp: I wanna thank you for taking the time to do this interview, you have a great thing going, wish you guys the best. Anything you wanna add or let us know about?

Electra: Just to say thanks for giving us the opportunity to do this interview. We very much appreciate your interest. Thanks very much.

That raps another exlusive up...make sure you tune into the OffCenterShow. It's got some great treats for all you webmasters out there looking to stay on top of the industry.
