    Adult Toon Market!
    By Titmowse | Writer @ CozyFrog | JUN.22.2006

"Visit the member's area of any major adult paysite and you will find a toon section. Search for toons or anime or animation on Google and you'll return with millions of results."
I’m a toon fan but I’m not a toon fanatic. I like cartoons. I like animation. I read comic books when I was a kid and yes, Archie Comics counts.

My brother was the comic book fan. He bought the first edition of Spider Man when it was first sold at the ‘Five and Dime’. A ‘Five and Dime’ is a type of store that doesn’t exist anymore. That’s how old I am. Both my brothers were the reason our family watched the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. But, I was the only kid in the house that watched the Beatles on Saturday morning television. The Jackson Five had an animated show too.

I read some of my brother’s comics. I bought a few of my own. I mentioned Archie Comics but I had a bit of a period when I kind of dug the Fantastic Four. I didn’t need to read Batman because he was in a live-action show of his own at night. I saw a good number of Disney movies and I did the Saturday toon thing. When I was young, toons were for kids and comic books were mostly for boy children. We had no Anime. We had Speed Racer. We didn’t use words like Anime, or Toon. We called this stuff Cartoons or Comics. Whatever the name, this form of Visual entertainment/expression is undergoing greater popularity than ever before. I am not a fanatic. My kid is. That’s the reason I know I’m not a fanatic. I live with a true toon fanatic. Those people are obsessed!

Do you know how many beautifully-designed Anime fan pages are out there? My kid shows me these absolutely gorgeous sites that load fast and look amazing. And Fan art? Don’t get me started. Granted, the fan art isn’t always as gorgeous as the sites but the numbers are staggering. I blame the Internet.

Actually, I think the animation renaissance began in the early nineties with the resurgence of Disney’s full-length feature. The Little Mermaid was a massive hit at the box-office. Beauty and the Beast was the first (and only) animated film to be nominated for Best Motion Picture. Along with the re-birth of Disney, practically every home had a VCR and animated home video became the staple product. I saw the origins of the western love affair with what was then called Japanimation among my artists friends in the late eighties. There were even a few Anime videos on the shelves of Blockbuster as far back as 93, 94.

The passion was building. Then came the Internet.

The point I’m trying to make is if you’re not a big toon fan, you might not be aware of how pervasive cartoons are on the Internet, or in the world for that matter. When I say pervasive I mean that this art form simply isn’t just for kids anymore. Adults are toon fans and millions of them are toon fanatics. As a combined adult/non-adult niche, one could compare toons in predominance to the Amateur niche.

Visit the member’s area of any major adult paysite and you will find a toon section. Search for toons or anime or animation on Google and you’ll return with millions of results. Not only that but there’s boundless stores of toon-related accoutrements for sale or free online. Geeks and toons go together and geeks love porn. It’s only natural that geeks love animated porn.

What’s more, cartoons were fated for the web. Toons look good on the net. Cartoon content - especially Flash format content is a third smaller in size than WMP files. If you’re not promoting toon content, you’re missing out on traffic and sales.

When we opened Cozy Flash, we knew we were on to something. We hunted out the best original cartoonists and built a complete library of animated adult Internet entertainment. We offered our toon content in plugin packages and now some of the most respected paysites on the web are our long-standing customers. We saw the lack of original adult animation and we filled the gap with a high quality roster unlike any other. Our collection includes an ever-growing supply of cartoons, anime, interactive media, adult comics and Flash games. Our clients love us because their members love us.

Toon content is strong, sought-after content. There are no model releases with toon content. Adult cartoons and anime load well and play well. You can build a whole site dedicated to animated smut or you can use it to enhance almost any adult webpage.

Toon content might often be silly but the market is serious. I may not be a fanatic but I’m a fan of the possibilities!
