    Coordinate Your Sponsors!
    By Titmowse | Writer @ CozyFrog | NOV.17.2006

Put up a little free site, add a couple of image galleries, slap up a sponsor banner or two and BAM, you’re a rich webmaster!

Oh, if only it were that easy.

I kind of hate marketing buzzwords but here’s one that you should remember when you make decisions about sponsor ads on your site: Synergy.

"You want your visitors to see your sponsor ads as a natural extension of the free content on your site."
Synergy is just a fancy term, used to describe advertising that is coordinated with content. In other words, if your free site is called "hotsolocollegecoedswholovejelly.com", then you should display sponsor ads that feature sites centering on hot coeds, solo models and food. If you run a blog that is dedicated to dating and swinging, then it would be wise to sign up and advertise a adult dating/classifieds sponsor. If you operate a site that stars trannies using dildos, then it would be synergistic to display a sponsor that sells dildos.

To be more specific, the free content on your site is a means to an end. The content is what lures the surfer to your page so that you have the opportunity to market your sponsors. Just the same, you don’t want to overwhelm your visitors with ads. Most people understand that advertising is a necessary evil but there is such a thing as too much. That’s why the adult webmaster needs to be creative with sponsor programs. You need to make those ads blend with your site. You need to make your sponsor programs as much a part of the surfer experience as is your content.

This article will not focus on how webmasters use sponsor ads for TGP galleries. The gallery webmaster has his/her own set of rules and is limited to promoting only one sponsor. This article will focus on the free adult site.

The cool part about a free adult site is that you can create any kind of site you want as long as you obey the law and pay for your own hosting and domain. If you wish to build the standard warning page/main page/two gallery free site, go for it. If you want to build a more detailed free site, you can do that too. Regardless of what you build, you need to coordinate your sponsors with your content. You need to make your sponsors as much a part of your site as is your content and design.

Another cool part about free sites is that you have the opportunity to promote more than one sponsor, service or paysite. Then again, you don’t want to confuse your surfer with too many sponsors.

You want to choose sponsor programs that are similar to the content you display on your free web. You want your visitors to see your sponsor ads as a natural extension of the free content on your site. You don’t want surfers who will stop and think: “What the hell is an ad for a MILF paysite doing on this cheerleader free site?” You want surfers to open that gallery page or erotic story, enjoy the content and see advertising for something similar, but better.

The absolute coolest part is that you can build a free site around sponsor programs. Do you have a Java chat on your site? Why not embed a phone sex sponsor ad above the chat console? Do you review sex toys on your site? A logical move would be to promote a sponsor that offers a personalized adult toy store and link them on the same page as your reviews. Do you write stories about interracial sex? Then posting a sponsor-hosted interracial video clip on the same page is the epitome of synergy.

Sponsors work hard to create graphic banners and text ads that are clickable. Just the same, it’s your responsibility as an adult webmaster to bring surfers to your site so that they will view those ads and text links. It’s your job to make those ads and text links look like they belong on your pages. It’s your duty to promote your sponsor’s products and services to the right audience.

A chat sponsor will appeal to the surfers in your chat room. A gay classified sponsor will sell better when displayed at the top of your gay forum, as opposed to the top of your forum’s main page. That penis-enhancement sponsor ad blends in with your sex story about the man in his fifties.

Anyone who tells you that selling sex on the web is easy, is a big, fat liar. It’s not easy. It takes perseverance, creativity and sponsor synergy. You can’t just throw up a free page, slap on a sponsor ad and get rich. You need to coordinate your sponsors with your site.
