"I don't subscribe to the theory that women won't pay for adult entertainment on the Internet. Women are as varied in their sexual tastes as men..." |
I’m a girl. Actually I’m a woman who is coming very close to the status of “
old woman”. Just the same, my libido functions as well as any other female. I like sex and the subjects of sex and sexuality still interest me. I get horny. I have fantasies. I masturbate. I’m like millions of adult women in this world. I don’t believe that women are any less perverted than men are. I don’t subscribe to the theory that women won’t pay for adult entertainment on the Internet.
My problem is that I can’t speak for all women. I know what I like but I also know that what I like is different from what the lady down the street likes. I might like straight hardcore images. The lady down the street might like dildos. Your married friend from the office could be seriously into gay porn whereas that counter girl at the department store is a bondage freak. Believe it or not there are women who don’t want to read erotica but would rather chat live with a hunk on a webcam. Your straight wife might totally dig lesbian videos while her dyke cousin loves nothing more than watching MMF gang-bang clips.
Women are as varied in their sexual tastes as men if not more so. I can’t tell you exactly what women want. I could never be that presumptuous.
I accept that statistically, men buy more paysite memberships than women do. What I can’t accept are the reasons given for the disparity between the sexes in this case.
Woman won’t buy porn memberships because they are:
Bullshit. Have you ever paid the equivalent of a month’s rent on a pair of shoes? On your twentieth pair of shoes? Women aren’t cheap. If a woman wants something bad enough, she’ll pay any price to get it.
There are hard statistics which show that when it comes to non-adult goods, women buy more on the web than men do. These same statistics also show that women outnumber men in numbers of overall Internet users.
Maybe it isn’t that women are cheap. Maybe the reason women won’t buy memberships to your paysite is because they don’t want what you’re selling. This brings us a second myth.
Women won’t buy porn memberships because:
What is porn, really? An indulgence? A fantasy? A vicarious thrill? What is porn to anyone?
Maybe men are simply more direct than women are. Men think of porn in terms of nakedness and sexual acts. To most men, porn is a visual thing. When men go looking for adult entertainment, they go looking for dirty pictures and video.
When women look for sexual fulfillment, they don’t always search the obvious places. Women have been forced to suppress/displace their sexual desires for almost the entirety of human civilization. It’s only in the last hundred years that human women have been given allowance to become sexual beings. In other words, we like sex. We just have a funny way of showing it.
I know plenty of gals who think that chocolate is sex. A geek girl like me gets a little wet when I browse the computer hardware auctions at Ebay. Some girls imagine themselves in the pages of an erotic story while others would rather chat live with a man they’ll never meet. There are women who like sex but don’t like disease or heartache so they buy dildos instead. There are lesbians who love to see pictures of hardcore hetero sex while there are straight chicks who can only tolerate girl-on-girl porn. Women like dirty pictures and video but we also get turned on by a new blender or a box of roses. Women like porn. Maybe women just don’t think of porn in the same literal way that men do.
With that, I arrive at a final falsity. Women don’t buy porn memberships because:
This is more of a two-part delusion. One part is the belief that, because we give permission to have sex, we can have sex anytime we want. I want sex constantly but I haven’t had it in a very long time. I’m a moderately attractive single woman but that doesn’t mean I’m willing to put myself in emotional or physical jeopardy just for a roll in the hay. I have scores of married girlfriends who would love to fuck the pizza delivery boy if it weren’t for their husbands, their children and their futures. Women don’t get sex whenever they want it.
That fact brings up the second part of the delusion: Women don’t think about sex. To be exact, men do think about sex more often than women think about sex. This one’s a little harder to refute.
There are studies that prove men have sex-related thoughts several times an hour. The fact is men are hard-wired and physically endowed to think about sex all the time. They’ve got dicks, which are constantly rubbing against their pants, plus they’re biologically programmed to fertilize all the flowers they can find. Men think about sex more than women do. This much is true.
What isn’t true is the part where women don’t think about sex. Of course women think about sex. We may not show it but we’re thinking about it. Don’t forget we’ve had a lot of practice at concealment.
Plus, we don’t get hardons. We think about sex but maybe we have a little more hormonal control. Maybe we’re able to schedule sexual thought. Some women get horny during ovulation. Others get horny during menstruation. Some get horny after a fight with their lover. Others get horny because they have no lover. Some get horny after the kids go to bed. Some get horny after the kids move off to college. Women think about sex. I’m thinking about sex right now.
I don’t want to tell you the same old crap you’ve heard about “for women” porn. You read it all before. Women like stories. Women like softcore and romantic sexual settings. Women buy vibrators more than they buy paysite memberships. Women want more than dirty pictures. Blah. Blah. Blah.
I just thought I’d give you a peek into the female mind. I like Internet porn. I look at Internet porn. I like that I am able to see porn safely, discretely and conveniently from my home. I can say this about most women. After that it gets complicated. Women will buy what they want but what do women want? This, I cannot say.
