    Go Gay with AVS!
    By Titmowse | Writer @ CozyFrog | NOV.21.2004

I really like the Adult Verification stem and it pisses me off that VISA wants to fuck with the concept. VISA says they’re not in the age verification business but they can’t issue a “teen” VISA unless an adult gives consent and co-signs for the account. If some kid with a credit card -loaded by mommy or daddy- uses their card to buy porn, then maybe VISA should stop issuing such cards or maybe Mom and Dad should step up to the plate of responsibility. In spite of the fucking, AVS is alive and doing just fine.

"Gay AVS sponsors offer the same, cool extra benefits for affiliates that straight AVS sponsors offer."
You may be familiar with the Adult Verification System but for those of you that are not, I’ll give you a short summary. Because of VISA guidelines, the AVS is a little different than the one of yesteryear but not that different.

Before, when you promoted an AVS, you promoted access to your site plus the sites of many others within the AVS provide’ database via purchase of an Adult Verification System/Service ID. Before, you stressed the adult ID aspect of the AVS in your sales text. Before, you marketed the multi-site benefits of the AVS ID.

Now, you don’t promote access to your site and you don’t stress the adult ID concept in your promotional copy. Instead, you tease them with a graphic-heavy buildup of your fabulous FREE site. You inform surfers of how great your FREE site is with each and every click. You also tell them that to see your incredible FREE porn page, all they have to do is apply for and obtain your AVS sponsor’s pass. Whether or not the pass costs your surfer any money is up to the individual AV sponsor.

Today’s AV site is different than yesterday’s but not really. Kind of like the Gay porn market is different than the Straight porn market, but not that different. When you promote Gay AVS, you’re still promoting AVS. You’re still promoting porn. You’re just doing it for a gay audience and using sponsors with Gay AVS programs.

Gay AVS sponsors offer the same, cool extra benefits for affiliates that straight AVS sponsors offer. Quite a few extend free content and free hosting to their webmasters. A good many have their own message boards moderated by sales reps. Some pay for banner clicks and some pay you for webmaster referrals.

I won’t get into the more complicated differences between Gay porn fans vs Straight porn fans. That’s got to be at least a three-part piece if not more! The point of this article is to show you that if you’re already promoting Gay porn on the web and you want to try AVS, you can! If you’re already doing well with Straight AVS but you want to expand into something just as profitable, then understand you don’t have to leave AVS to expand.

Here are some AVS sponsors that cater specifically to the Gay Internet audience:

Gay Bouncer
(http://webmasters.gaybouncer.com)
Free site hosting. Free TGP or MGP hosting. Integrated partnership program. $14.97 per month + recurring. Free content. Webmaster referrals. What’s not to like?

UGAS
(http://mp.ugas.com/wmtour)
The granddaddy of all Gay AVS this sponsor still rocks. Create a UGAS Protected, Preferred or Platinum site. Sign up and you’ll be a value-added reseller (VAS) for the UGAS brand.

Rainbow Passport
(http://www.rainbowpassport.com/webmaster)
This is a relatively new sponsor and that’s always a good thing when it comes to AVS. Build your AdPage and promote the Rainbow Passport. This SE script program does it all.

Before you promote any AVS sponsor, Straight or Gay, it’s always wise to explore each separate program. They all have their own specific guidelines on how they want their affiliate webmasters to promote their service. You want to do things by the rules.

If you wish to get a better understanding of the Gay niche or the AVS concept or both, please visit our guides at Cozy Frog and read our AVS lessons on Cozy Academy.

As said before, you may already be an adult webmaster selling Gay content and services. You may be a webmaster already making money by selling AVS. Either way, consider Gay AVS. The Gay market is doing well and AVS is very much alive.
