    Getting The News Out!
    By Titmowse | Writer @ CozyFrog | JUL.20.2002

The Internet and the adult market are a superb combination of desirable product and shopping convenience. Your potential customer base is literally all the adults in the world with Internet access. The confines of travel and time have been obliterated by cyberspace and now you can sell to anyone who finds you.

"Getting customers to find your porn site is hard enough, what if you need other adult Internet professionals to find you?"
The old rules of location and brand name recognition apply doubly to the Internet marketeer. There's no data on exactly how many adult webmasters there are in this world but I don't think I would be too far off the mark if I estimated that number to be no less than 250,000. This means you have to compete with a quarter of a million other webmasters in a world where there are no physical beacons. People have to know where you are, what you do and how to find you.

There are so many cyber areas that you have to make yourself known to, it's unreal. To make sure that your customers find you, you have to become an expert at search engine and gallery submission, link trades, doorway pages and feeder sites. On top of that, other adult webmasters don't make just one sex site. Some make new, whole sites every day. Getting customers to find your porn site is hard enough, what if you need other adult Internet professionals to find you?

What if you are a programming guru or a graphics wizard or a photographer with a viable service to provide to your pornographic peers? What if you have finally passed the plateau of paysite success and want to open an affiliate program to webmasters? How do you gain the attention of those within your field? How do you get them to find you?

One way is with adult webmaster resource sites. If you have content or services that adult Internet companies need, you can submit that service to the multitude of resource pages out there. You also want to become acquainted with your other porn peers so you really should spend time at adult webmaster message boards, chats and online live events. Link trades with other pornmasters or getting your button on the submission page of a TGP, are benefits of networking with those in your industry. Submitting your resource to the search engines is always helpful.

The ways I've mentioned that you can lure traffic and makes sales from your adult-related resources all are part of the new methods of cyber marketing. Links and buttons and submissions to search engines are all terms we have only come to know recently.

In the physical world, there weren't as many ways for an adult business to advertise, much less those folks who created the product. You couldn't just take an ad out in any old magazine. You couldn't post a big-ass billboard in just any part of town. And if you had opened a legitimate business that provided a legitimate service to an enterprise that just happens to deal in naked women...where on earth would you send out your press release?

Remember press releases? They were official notices with your company's address and contact information at the top along with the release date. Businesses would send them out to all the media outlets and they would then be expelled to the waiting world. Guess what? Press releases are back. Well, they never left actually, but now you as a smut salesman have an excellent place to submit yours.

XBIZ released the coolest tool that I've seen in ages. The tool is called "NEWSCASTER" and what it does is bring the power of the press release to the adult Internet. At Newscaster, you can submit one press release to the most respected and most popular porn industry hangouts in our profession. You simply go to the Newscaster page, and fill out the fields, paste in your press release, click the submit button and boom, your press release is on it's way to it's mission.

If you don't know how to write a press release, it would be wise to read the Press Release Notes that are posted on the Newscaster page. If you have Microsoft Word, you can download a press release template and study it for it's formatting. There's also numerous websites on the Internet that can teach you the proper way to compose a press release. Press releases aren't the magical road to Internet fame. There is no sure path for that. Press releases are what they are: One more way you have to shine the light of traffic onto you.
