Content. What is it?
Content is the stuff of your adult page. The pictures, videos, stories and dirty jokes are content. Sponsor banners, groovy Flash menus and fancy Photo Shop logos are not content. Those elements are part of a site's design. A site's design is the dinner plate and content is the food.
In the young days of Internet porn a person could buy a domain with a popular keyword in the spelling. They could submit that URL to relatively empty search engines. They could make a page with no content and only ads for porn on it. That page would make them loads of money because of their timing and the vacuum effect that resulted when the Internet was opened up to ordinary people.

Ad pages are still used and generate income, but now they’re called banner farms. There’s also pop-up consoles and those FOUND 404 windows you see when you type a wrong URL in your browser address bar. While these types of ad pages and pops serve a purpose, they are not considered content nor are they considered to be sites. Use this type of advertising sparingly as most links lists and search engines hate them. Surfers don’t like them so much either.
Your porn site needs content.
Every site needs content. Large or small, the content on a site is its lifeblood. Ever heard of a site called Hamster Dance? It’s not very well-designed and it’s fairly silly but millions of surfers far and wide visit daily to see the goofy content. Your adult site doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t have to look like a professional graphic designer made it, not as long as it loads fast and contains content, content, content.
No matter what type of adult site you build, whether it’s a blog, a link list, a free site with some galleries and a couple of dirty cartoons, and especially a full-out paysite, you must have content.
You can dazzle them with your design. You can sell them with your snappy sales copy. But if you don’t give them content, they will leave and never come back.
There’s a saying in the adult Internet: Content is King. Picture content. Video clips. Dirty stories. Horny Flash games. Dating advice and how-to articles. Content is your lure, your hook. It’s what brings them in. Content is the core of an adult site.
