    Lesson #02

    Your HTML Editor

    By C-Pimp | Head @ CozyFrog | Updated: APR.16.2008
Before you can begin, you will need an HTML editor. You will use your HTML editor as a canvas for creating your Internet documents.

There are literally dozens of editors you can download for FREE that are powerful enough to get the job done just as well as any priced full featured HTML programs. There are also plenty of programs available that will do most of the work for you by creating the code via a simple point and click system. You can EVEN create HTML documents with a basic notepad or text editor if you're more advanced.

I highly recommend using a simple editor and handling the actual coding yourself since a hands-on approach is the best way to learn HTML. Another great advantage of knowing how to HTML on your own is having full control on how the code is formatted and how precise the end result will be.

I would personally recommend any of the following Freeware and Shareware editors.

Untitled Page

I suggest you give them all a try if possible and pick the one that works best for you.

I've been using the original "Arachnophilia 4.0" for several years and have never dished out a dime for an HTML editor. I've tried many others including the newer builds of Arachnophilia and my preference hasn't changed one bit! I will also be using "Arachnophilia 4.0" as the sample program for screenshots in future lessons when we get down to the nitty gritty because it is has a very simple interface and is extremely easy to use.

Once you've got your trusty HTML editor - you'll have to get equipped with a few other trusty tools, some of which you probably already have in your possession. Look for those in the next lesson!
